Sigmund Freud University Vienna

The Sigmund Freud University Vienna (SFU) offers degree programmes in the human sciences with an emphasis on psychotherapy science and psychology. It is the first university worldwide to provide a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in psychotherapy science.

While psychotherapy training was offered exclusively at postgraduate level by psychotherapy training institutions in the past, SFU blends academic training for psychotherapists with comprehensive research activities previously carried out at various research institutes separately. The University cooperates with a number of psychotherapy training institutions in various areas.

The Bachelor Degree course in psychology is designed to provide students with appropriate key qualifications and to develop their research competencies in the social sciences. Students gain a professional qualification and a firm scientific basis to continue with a Master’s Degree course in the human and social sciences.
